Hi, I'm Alan.

Alan Bisseker MSc ASCC CSCS

A professional Physical Performance & Rehabilitation coach with nearly 10 years of experience, I work with elite and professional athletes across multiple sports.

I am Masters educated, PhD candidate & fully accredited strength and conditioning coach with the UKSCA and NSCA and have worked with:

  • Multiple Olympic gold medallists

  • GB Cycling Team
  • British Surfing
  • Skateboard GB
  • The FA and Premier League Footballers

I currently work at Sheffield United as Lead Performance and Rehab Specialist.

How am I different to a PT?

If you are looking to just lose weight or get fit, bigger, toned etc - you don’t need my level of service or expertise.  There are likely over 100 personal trainers in the Altrincham area who are perfectly qualified and capable of helping you with these goals.

However, if you are looking for qualified and competent support with your physical performance in sport and performance planning then I am one of a handful of people in the area who can really help you - if not the only person (outside professional sports teams).

Where am I based?

Gym based sessions will be delivered at The Strength Collective in Altrincham town centre - a friendly, performance gym with no crowds and amazing equipment.

Field & court based sessions will be delivered from a number of outdoor locations within the Altrincham area (dependent of the content of the session, surface required etc).

Have a home gym? I also train clients from the privacy of their own homes.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

Of course you need flexibility, especially if you’re an aspiring amateur, but without being laser focussed on exactly what it is you need and when - you won’t fulfill your potential.

Training session by session, week to week or month to month may do the job if general fitness is your aim - but when it comes to improving long-term physical performance, it NEVER works!

  • For some of you, your plan may be for an event in 3 months. Or perhaps ensuring you’re optimally prepared for every Saturday. 
  • For younger, talented athletes with aspirations of being professional or reaching a high level, we need to take a longer term view.  

Either way, your starting point is ALWAYS the end goal (no matter how far away it is). Then work back from there.  Any other method is plain guess work.

What are the necessary steps to take? What are the physical demands of your event/sport/position? Work backwards from there.

What is your current level of physical ability? Where are the gaps? What tests are we going to use?

2. DO

How do we close the gaps?

What methods do we use and when / how do we use them?

3. REVIEW

Is the plan working?

Has your performance improved? How?

Have the goals / demands changed?
